Porcelain Light Socket Wiring Diagram. Locate the circuit breaker for the light socket and turn the switch off. Bring the wire to the socket's screw terminal.
Hook the screw loop around the green ground screw on your mounting bracket or light fixture and tighten the screw to hold it in place. The black wire goes to the gold screw, white wire to the silver screw, and the green wire to the green screw. Bring the wire to the socket's screw terminal.
